Hopefully it’s already evident if you’re reading this, but this is the official debut of the new Kitchen Chronicles! It’s been a work in progress for a little while, but the site has a new look, as well as some new functionalities that I’ve been coveting for, oh, about 2 years. Here’s a rundown of what’s new on the site.

First, we now have printable recipes. When you click on any post and scroll to the recipe at the bottom, you’ll find a “Print” button next to the recipe title. Click on it and you’ll be able to print only the recipe, and not 10 pages of images and me pontificating along with it.

We’ve also got a fantastic new recipe index which you can find in the bar at the top of the site. This is a great place to browse recipes you might be interested in by ingredient, country of origin, course and much more.

And lastly, an exciting new addition to The Kitchen Chronicles – the long awaited travel section. You can find the featured countries in the “Travel” dropdown menu in the bar at the top of the site – I’ll be using these pages to profile different places I’ve visited, show you photos and offer some advice and recommendations on where to stay, what to eat and what to do while you’re there. Today the first of the travel pages is up and running – Guatemala!

None of this would have been possible without the talented Simone Grace Seol, who was my first-year roommate at Wellesley College oh so many years ago and has now become my website’s guardian angel. You can check out her work here.

Thanks, as always, for coming along for the ride!
