Fresh Strawberry and Rhubarb Tart

My family and I spent the past weekend in Savannah, relaxing hard and eating even harder. I’m not usually one for long weekend trips, preferring to really go all out a few times a year instead, but this quick getaway was actually the perfect way to shut my brain off, take a bunch of luxurious naps and drink too much alcohol during the day, but it didn’t really matter because there was always a potential nap on the horizon.

Portuguese Custard Tarts (Pastéis de Nata)

It would be an understatement to say we ate well on our trip to Portugal this summer. We had all types of meals, from high-end modernist cuisine to homestyle Portuguese classics. We ate amazing seafood every single day, and at every meal one person always ordered octopus.  But one of the best things we ate, in my opinion, was also one of the simplest: pastéis de nata.
